My daughter Ava is 10 years old. Since she was tiny it was evident that she had an “old soul”. She has always been mature for her age, speaking in full sentences at 15 months and using some mighty big words at that! She is always stepping up to help without being asked and taking care of her sisters like it is the most natural thing in the world.

She has been my muse for over a decade now and watching her grow into her own little woman is a privilege. She has been bitten by the creative bug it seems, with a love for singing, acting and now photography. She asked if I would take some photos of her in the ocean wearing a dress. (Inspired by her aunt Carolyn of course) I said yes faster than you could possibly imagine.

The evening we decided upon was one of those summer nights you wish wouldn’t end. It was breezy and warm but not even a little but humid. It was crispy in the ocean but exhilarating and watching my beautiful daughter frolic among the waves is a memory I will never forget. Here are some of the images from our time in the sand.
