April’s Childhood Unplugged day allowed for us to celebrate spring at its finest here in the Northeast! Every April the Cherry Blossom trees in New Jersey bloom, providing a gorgeous pink view above and a snow flurry of pink petals below. It is always breath taking and almost dream like to see these pink trees for what seems like miles. We took the kids to Verona Park to check them out and not only did they love that they could climb on some of the lower ones and perch themselves comfortably and without fear to play, but also the rows of yellow dandelions  and those pretty little purple weeds that look like tiny lilacs!! Baby Taylor got a kick out of the grass on her feet and the petals everywhere. She sat happily watching Ava & Lyla playing in the grass while the wind blew through her baby hair. There is a beautiful water fall there and a brook that leads to it that almost calls to you because it looks as if you can climb down and back up if you wanted to.

I am so happy to have these monthly photos of these children and I love exploring our own town month over month!

You can see how the kids have grown year over year by viewing Childhood Unplugged from May 2016, May 2015 and April 2014.
Childhood Unplugged May 2017

Childhood Unplugged, West Palm Beach style…. We usually take a trip to visit my family in West Palm Beach, FL in late April, but this year my husbands Godchild Adelia was baptized in March and so we planned an earlier trip. The weather was perfection with long sunny days with a breeze climbing to the low 80’s during the day and the low 70’s at night. We spent every day with my family at the clubhouse pool, swimming, eating, lounging and just enjoying each others company. It was one of the BEST trips yet despite Lyla getting sick.. again. I love this first photo of Ava so much because it reminds me so much of my own childhood. I remember the feeling of the crisp water all around me in the summer time and how freeing it was. I like to think she has the same experience when surrounded by water.

You can see how much the kids have grown by checking out the last few years of April entries!

poll day in west palm beach with my girls

For Childhood Unplugged this month, the incredible fashionista Melissa Adler from Dirt and Noise Kids was kind enough to sponsor my efforts to get my kids out and about and unplugged. She outfitted our tribe in some of the cutest digs!! (You can find everything at her boutique in Montclair or online!) We decided there was no reason her two boys shouldn’t come along for some good clean adventures featuring records, cozy couches and a general desire to have fun!

Childhood Unplugged and Dirt and Noise

This year we had so much to celebrate including selling and buying our new home in Essex Fells, NJ, welcoming our third little girl Taylor Ash and celebrating 10 years of wedded bliss!

I am so grateful for our health, our family and our friends this year and I look so forward to what is to come.

This New Years we decided to have some close friends from town over along with their children to celebrate! The kids made homemade photo booth props and set up a photo booth using our new polaroid snap camera from Nonni.

I wish all of you a beautiful, peaceful and healthy new year filled with joy, laughter and memories big and small!

Childhood Unplugged, New Years, 2017

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! For the November Childhood Unplugged I always let the girls run free in their costumes somewhere fun and cool a few days before the real Halloween. This year we returned to Kips Castle Park in Verona, NJ where the backdrop for my Hermaine Granger and Tooth-fairy were the perfect setting!

Baby Taylor’s first Halloween was a good one! My little pumpkin wasn’t all that warm on this chilly fall day but they were troopers and I think they had fun in the process.

You can see my past Halloween’s here.

Happy Halloween! A pumpkin, A tooth fairy and Hermaine Granger from Harry Potter come to play in this fun excertion
